Cameron Residence, Tyler

The Cameron Residence is a mid-century home designed by E. Davis Wilcox, FAIA, in the early 1950s.

The Camerons were a prominent family in Tyler, Texas and were heavily involved in the community. Using natural materials, exterior screen walls, and natural lighting, the residence finds balance between privacy and the family’s love of entertaining. The Wilcox and Cameron families were friends, so the architect was able to use his intimate knowledge of his client while designing the home.

The residence remained with the same family until it was recently purchased by Mr. Joey Seeber, who invited AIA Northeast Texas for a tour of the home.
