NCTCOG Code Amendments
The North Central Texas Council of Goverments' Regional Codes Coordinating Committee and its five Advisory Boards comprised of local public and private code professionals continually review the latest editions of the model construction codes and recommend uniform amendments for the North Central Texas region to reduce the variation of local construction codes in the region. By encouragin cities to adopt standardized codes and regional amendments, NCTCOG makes it easier for contractors, builders, developers and design professionals to do work from city to city throughout the region, there by reducing overall costs.
The Regional Codes Coordinating Committee reviews the International Codes and the National Electrical Code when new editions are released (but not when supplements are released). Most recently, the committees completed their review of the 2015 International Codes and the 2014 National Electrical Code. NCTCOG encourages jurisdictions in North Central Texas to adopt the newest model construction codes along with their respective regional amendments as expeditiously as their local code adoption process will allow.
