SUMMARY:2021 International Residential Code (IRC) Basics and City of Dallas Amendments
DESCRIPTION:The AIA Dallas Codes + Standards Committee provides up to date information and education on codes and standards as they relate to the AIA Dallas membership. They are also a source of expert advice on architectural issues related to codes and standards to regulatory agencies and related industry partners. \n\nThis program will provide an overview of 2021 International Residential Code and the City of Dallas amendments. In addition to life safety requirements\, this course will discuss common concerns\, lessons-learned\, and frequently asked questions like when an architect or engineer is required. \nLearning Objectives \n\nUnderstand the variety of life safety requirements outlined in the residential code.\nLearn about the specific revisions to the 2021 IRC adopted by the City of Dallas.\nDiscuss common oversights when designing residential projects.\nLearn the local and state requirements for when an architect or engineer is required for residential projects.\n\n*This course is currently under review by AIA CES for continuing education credit.  \n  \nComplimentary parking will be provided through Republic Center Valet. Please bring your blue ticket with you to the AD EX for validation. Drinks and snacks will be provided\, but feel free to bring your lunch. \nRegistration is encouraged\, but not required >>
