Alejandra Hinojosa

Alejandra is a Sustainability Specialist within LPA’s Sustainability + Applied Research (S+AR) Team focused on process and progress. Working at a multidisciplinary firm that prioritizes an integrated approach to sustainability allows Alejandra a unique window of opportunity to effect change at a project, discipline, and firm-wide level. Her passion for environmentalism fuels her capacity to advocate for solutions that drive decarbonization and consider the triple bottom line: people, planet, prosperity.

She serves as co-chair of the Carbon Drawdown Subcommittee on ASLA’s National Climate Action Committee, collaborating with her colleagues to publish educational, research-based guides focused on decarbonizing design and construction. Her next collaborative effort will be centered on standardizing site-based LCA methodologies in order to produce industry-wide embodied carbon benchmarks for Landscape Architects and Civil Engineers.

Outside of decarbonization, her personal research interest lies at the intersection of innovative materials and climate equity, always thinking about how we can advocate and design our built environment to prioritize both our natural ecosystems and our neighbors.
