Amelia Cates

Amelia Cates is an educator, gardener and quilter located in Dallas Texas. They received their Bachelor’s degree in community development and urban studies from Portland State University and their Master’s degree in teaching from Lewis and Clark College. They have been teaching history to middle and high school students for over 15 years. They grew up in Dallas and come from a long line of Texans dating back to the mid 1700’s. Their early experiences growing up in Dallas heavily shaped their ideas about urban spaces and the built environment.
