2016 Built Design Awards Welcomes David Lewis, AIA of LTL

The 2016 AIA Dallas Design Awards Committee is excited to have David Lewis, AIA of LTL on the Built Awards Jury.

Ask any recent architecture school graduate if they had a copy of Opportunistic Architecture or Intensities by Lewis.Tsurumaki.Lewis on their desk, and the answer will almost certainly be yes.  The influence of the New York firm’s heavily section-oriented drawing style on young architects today can hardly be over emphasized.

AIA Dallas is very pleased to have one of the founding members of LTL, David Lewis AIA, as one of the jurors for our 2016 Built Design Awards.

In addition to authoring influential books and having an impressive academic career: BA from Carleton College, MArch from Princeton University, MA in the History of Architecture and Urbanism from Cornell, Associate Professor at Parsons, Adjunct Professor of Architecture at the University of Limerick, teaching stints at Cornell, Penn, and Ohio State, member of Advisory Council for Cornell’s College of Architecture, he has an impressive resume of built work.

Perhaps best known to Texas architects will be the Arthouse in Austin.

Come to the 2016 Awards Announcement Celebration on October 6th, and hear what David Lewis thinks about the best built work put forth by Dallas architecture firms.

This year’s program will feature a separate event the previous night held in partnership with the Young Professionals Network. Call to Order will feature our jurors in a more informal setting as they present their own work and engage in discussion with the audience. It will be held at the downtown offices of HKS, in their ground-level event space.

Please mark your calendars and join us for both of these events. See you there!
