2019 AIA Dallas Unbuilt Design Awards Welcomes Molly Hunker of SPORTS

The AIA Dallas Design Awards Committee is pleased to announce Molly Hunker, co-captain of SPORTS, as a juror for the 2019 Unbuilt Design Awards.

Molly is a Wyoming-raised designer and educator and the co-captain of the award-winning practice, SPORTS.  Molly received her BA degree from Dartmouth College and her MArch degree from the UCLA. She has worked for architecture studios and art workshops along the west coast including Doug Aitken Workshop, Talbot McLanahan Architecture, Weinstein A|U and The LADG.  Molly has taught at UCLA, Woodbury University, The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where she served as the inaugural 2013–2014 Douglas A. Garofalo Fellow, and is currently an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University, School of Architecture.  In 2017, Molly's practice has been honored with the prestigious League Prize from the Architectural League of NY, and have since also won a Faculty Design Award from the ACSA (2018), and the Young Architect Award from the Architect’s Newspaper (2018).

Join us for the 2019 Unbuilt Awards Announcement Celebration also on Thursday, May 16th at the AD EX (the Architecture and Design Exchange), located on the first floor of Republic Center at the corner of St. Paul Street and Pacific Avenue. We will be celebrating the best unbuilt work put forth by Dallas architecture firms.
