Did You Know? Continuing Education Edition
If you have been following AIA Dallas programming over the last year you may have noticed a shift in Continuing Education (CE) offerings.
Under the leadership of past President Kirk Teske, AIA, and current President Lisa Lamkin, AIA, there has been a shift to more engaging and inclusive member-delivered CE programming. This shift in programming is largely brought to you by the newly formed Architecture Matters Committee led by AIA Dallas Officer and V.P. of Programs Sean Garman, AIA, Director of Education Zaida Basora, FAIA, and Architecture Matters Committee Chair Michael Friebele, Assoc. AIA.
If you have had the opportunity to view the AIA Dallas Roadshow – coming to your firm soon – you would have learned that AIA Dallas offers:
- More than 1,000 credit hours of free CE programs,
- You do NOT have to be an AIA member to participate in any of the 23 networking and programming committees,
- and that committees meet monthly, with over 250 members actively participating in shaping the future of AIA Dallas on a monthly basis.
Several of the most successful programs in the Architecture Matters program line-up are You’ve got Five Minutes (Kids and Fellows) series, Firmly Feud: an Architectural Game Show, the Fellows Panel series moderated by Mark Lamster, and most recently, Tours & Pours, a construction tour series being launched this month with the inaugural tour of SMU’s new Residential Hall and Dining Commons.
