From the Executive Director: January
Greetings, Members, Colleagues, and Friends,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome last month as I began my new role at AIA Dallas and the Architecture and Design Foundation. I remember now how quickly AIA Dallas gets off to a running start every year! This January, we:
- welcomed over 100 attendees to connect and engage at our Committee Fair;
- thanked our wonderful supporters and partners at our Allied Member Breakfast;
- kicked off diverse professional development series including Specifications, Design Excellence, and Practice Management;
- launched the 12th class of the Emerging Leaders Program;
- and much, much more.
I’m proud to report that we are the strongest we have ever been with more than 2,500 members and growing. Additionally, we have an exciting 2020 slate of programs and opportunities – get a sneak peek here.
At the Architecture and Design Exchange (AD EX), we are excited about the Chapter’s expanded possibilities. My goal is to work with both the AIA Dallas and the Foundation presidents to re-envision our organizations and their delivery of programs and activities at the AD EX. The AD EX strategic framework is one where a shared vision will allow for the continued evolution and growth of each organization while also cultivating unique and distinct roles that serve both the architecture profession and the public. The first step in this process was the creation of a Managing Director position for the AD EX and the appointment of Katie Hitt, Assoc. AIA, to this role. As the Managing Director, she will effectively unify, implement, manage, and grow the day to day activities.
