Paying It Forward: A Discussion of the City of Dallas 2017 Bond Election

Monday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m.

On November 7 (early voting starts October 23), the City of Dallas will ask its citizens to approve a $1.05 billion bond package.  Included are funds for streets, economic development, and city parks.  Also included in Propositions C and F, among others, are funds for repair and maintenance for some of our city’s most iconic architecture, including Fair Park, buildings in the Arts District and the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Kalita Humphreys Theater. We often focus on the design and construction of these jewels, but not the repairs and maintenance.  A group of architects and city employees will be here to give you the latest information.  It should be an interesting discussion on how we maintain our architectural heritage and determine what priorities we should make with these often-in-the-spotlight buildings. Details on speakers and panelists will follow.

The program will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.  $10 donation to support DCFA programming is requested at the door.  To RSVP, e-mail
