AIA Dallas LGBTQIA+ Alliance is proud to present the First Annual Set the Stage Design Competition!
The Set the Stage Design Competition brings together the AEC and queer communities to create a one-of-a-kind, pop-up drag stage for the queen on the go. Grab your crew, let your imagination run wild, and create a digital presentation of your original design, complete with a theme and décor. A panel of judges and the public will vote on the best overall design. The winning team will partner with a construction team to make their design come to life. In honor of Pride Month, on June 29, a finale drag show will showcase the winning design. Bring your brains, your beads, and may the best team win!
LGBTQIA+ Alliance seeks to bring together members who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ family and allies to build community, mentorship, and career opportunities. We aim to amplify the stories of our LGBTQIA+ members and celebrate their achievements and to advocate for and advance equitable experiences within the AIA and its member firms.
Proceeds from the Set the Stage competition and drag show will go toward supporting one or more AIA Dallas and LGBTQIA+ Alliance member to attend the LGBT Leadership Institute hosted by LGBT Chamber of Commerce Foundation. The program provides a diverse cohort of participants with valuable leadership skills and knowledge, along with a historical view of the LGBT community and equality movement.
