PBK is in search of a licensed architect to fill the role of Architectural Designer to serve as a US-based liason for our growing K-12 architectural practice in China. The candidate must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese. This challenging and fast paced position will require a personable candidate with experience in designing educational, healthcare or large scale corporate facilities, drawing, sketching and preparation of design presentation drawings. The candidate must have the ability to:
Create design concepts and continue the development through all design phases.
Work well in a design team environment and with senior management.
Have extremely strong inter-personal skills.
Possess strong graphics skills.
Be an effective presenter of ideas and concepts.
Possess knowledge of interior finishes and trends.
Be completely dedicated to client service.
Prior experience working for an Architectural/Engineering Consultant, or construction related firm is required.
K-12 project experience is preferred.
The candidate should have extremely strong inter-personal skills.

Serve as the project designer working directly with Director of Design focused on work in China.
Support the design team in the schematic design phase and take leadership of design development phases.
Work with the project designer to ensure that all key design elements and features are properly documented in the Design Development documents
Collaborate with the Project Architect on both shell & core architectural projects as well as interior architectural projects.
Coordinate with a local Chinese Cooperative on each project to ensure that the design development documents are compliant with local codes and regulations.
Bachelor of Architecture degree required, Master's degree preferred.
K-12 Educational, Higher Educational, Healthcare, Corporate and Sports experience preferred.
8-12 years’ experience with at least 4-6 years serving as a Project Leader or equivalent role.
Preference will be given to candidates that are experienced working in mainland China.
Preference for someone that speaks and writes Mandarin Chinese.
Must have the ability to travel internationally on occasion.
Proficient in Autocad, Photoshop, Sketchup, InDesign and REVIT/BIM.
LEED accredited strongly considered.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact with senior management, external client organizations and vendors.
Must be quality minded and self-motivated.
