Project Architect

Treanor HL is a full service planning and design firm with offices in Texas, Kansas, Missouri, California, Colorado and Georgia. Our Science and Technology group is recognized regionally and nationally for providing exceptional design solutions that are tailored to satisfy the unique and complex needs of our clients. While we maintain long term relationships with private clients, we are focused on addressing the dynamic challenges faced by colleges and universities. Together with our clients, we provide planning and design solutions for many different types of instructional and research facilities.

We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Project Architect to join the Science and Technology studio in our Dallas, Texas office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports and bid documents, including drawings and technical specifications
• Manage all phases of design throughout project scope, including project set-up, design and construction administration
• Communicate clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements
• Manage project scheduling, budgets, and set-up with clients, contractors, vendors and consultants
• Serve as technical point of contact providing interpretation for design and construction teams
• Provide Science & Technology Studio Principal with regular status updates on performance, issues, or challenges related to projects
• Ensure projects conform to contract
• Maintain project records

Qualifications

• Licensed Architect, or actively working on licensure
• 5-8 years of experience, with recent experience on Science and Technology related facilities. Experience on Higher Education projects desired.
• Experience working with and leading a diverse team of consultants and internal staff
• A passion for working collaboratively with clients to solve unique and complex challenges
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff, consultant teams and the client
• A team focused attitude, willing to assist other Studios as necessary
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
• High levels of activity and productivity
• Strong organizational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability and desire to mentor young design professionals
• Ability to develop and deliver technically sound project documents
• Knowledge of building codes (IBC and NFPA) and zoning regulations
• The ability to quickly grasp new concepts
• Familiarity with LEED or other sustainability guidelines and their applicability towards projects. LEED accreditation, or actively working towards is desired
• Knowledge of SECO requirements related to State of Texas projects
• Full understanding of ADA and TAS requirements
• Ability to provide structured coordination of consultants and documentation related to Construction Administration efforts
• A willingness to travel outside of local area to attend meetings at various sites
