The LGBTQIA+ Alliance Network is proud to host the 3rd Annual Set the Stage Design Competition! In support of community involvement and encouraging education, we invite designers of all backgrounds to submit standing backdrop designs for story time at the Oak Lawn Branch Dallas Library. Help immerse young minds in the creative, playful atmosphere that surrounds story time engagement!
Submission Theme: S.M.A.R.T. (Science, Math, Art, Reading, and Technology)
Team Registration Entry Fee: $250
Stage Setting: Dallas Public Library – Oak Lawn Branch
Important Dates:
- April 4 – 18: Registration Period ** DEADLINE EXTENDED TO FRIDAY, APRIL 25! **
- April 28: Kickoff Meeting
- Apri30, 5:30pm: Site Walk
- May 16: 50% Submission Due
- June 4: Final Submission Due
- June 6 – 13: Exhibition displayed at AD EX and Oak Lawn Branch
- June 6 – 13: People’s Choice Voting & Jury Review
- June 16: Winners announced at gallery reception
Submission Parameters:
- Three to five panels per submission
- Each panel must have a width between 2′-0″ and 2′-6″ and height of 6′-0″
- Panels must be self-supporting, easy to transport, and lightweight (no plywood)
- Design must include Peggy the Pegasus (library mascot)
- Must be child appropriate
- Panels must make sense separately
- Must include removable and 3D elements
- Must include multi-lingual content (story time is hosted in English and Spanish)
