AIA Dallas is proud to announce the promotion of Elizabeth Jones, Assoc. AIA to the position of Deputy Director. Having demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep commitment to the organization’s mission over the past five years, she will now take on an expanded role as second-in-command, assisting Executive Director, Zaida Basora, FAIA, in leading AIA Dallas programs, communications, organizational operations, and representing the organization at state and national meetings and conferences.
Elizabeth is transitioning into this leadership role after serving as the Marketing Director for both AIA Dallas and the Architecture and Design Foundation. During her five years in this role, she has been instrumental in elevating the digital presence and brand identity of both organizations. Elizabeth’s promotion to Deputy Director is the culmination of over 15 years of experience within the Dallas-based architecture nonprofit sector, where she has consistently driven strategic growth and community engagement. Since joining AIA Dallas, Elizabeth has managed a marketing team of two, in addition to facilitating six committees and supporting two others. She has played a vital role in the growth of signature fundraising events, including the annual Tour of Homes and the Gala for Architecture.
Her dedication to the architectural community has been recognized with the 2021 AIA Dallas Associate of the Year Award and the 2024 AIA Dallas Presidential Citation for her outstanding service.
In her new capacity as Deputy Director, Elizabeth will continue to leverage her expertise in communications and operations to advance the strategic goals of AIA Dallas and further its impact within the Dallas architecture community.
