Andrew Barnes, AIA

Andrew Barnes, AIA is a transplant to Dallas. Originally from the Kansas City area, he has now lived in Dallas long enough to be able to say, “I remember when that old bar was here…” and other various statements of civic nostalgia. Having drawn buildings since his early childhood, he is now living through the inevitable consequences of that proclivity through his profession as an Architect. After stints at Callison (before RTKL) and Oglesby Greene, Andrew launched Agent Architecture in May of 2017.  Agent has developed a project catalogue consisting of many adaptive re-use, workplace, residential, education, hospitality, and industrial projects. The variety keeps practice interesting. Agent has grown from a one-person shop to a 6-person studio and will celebrate 10 years next May.  Andrew has always been an urbanite and loathes Texas’ car-first culture. He feels most at home in people-focused spaces and wants everyone to be able to feel the joy of walking to their local shop, bakery, or restaurant. Andrew has written extensively for Texas Architect Magazine (serving multiple years as its Publication Committee Chair) and is now working on his first sci-fi novel. Ask him about it sometime.
