With a goal of regional code uniformity, the Executive Board is encouraging jurisdictions in the 16 county area of NCTCOG to adopt the 2024 International Codes and Regional Amendments. This event will review the major recommended amendments to the 2024 International Building Code.

Learning Objectives
  • Understand the intent in the adoption of and amendments to the 2024 IBC by NCTCOG.
  • Differentiate between the Option A and Option B aspect of the amendments as it relates to the definition of high-rise buildings and how more restrictive provisions have been added to high rise buildings.
  • Review the complete rewrite of IBC Section 915, Carbon Monoxide to be more in line with the proposed 2027 IBC draft text.
  • Review and understand the amendments by NCTCOG to Ch. 30, elevators, which clarifies IBC text and includes more restrictive provisions than those published by IBC.
