2021 International Residential Code (IRC) Basics and City of Dallas Amendments
The AIA Dallas Codes + Standards Committee provides up to date information and education on codes and standards as they relate to the AIA Dallas membership. They are also a source of expert advice on architectural issues related to codes and standards to regulatory agencies and related industry partners.
This program will provide an overview of 2021 International Residential Code and the City of Dallas amendments. In addition to life safety requirements, this course will discuss common concerns, lessons-learned, and frequently asked questions like when an architect or engineer is required.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the variety of life safety requirements outlined in the residential code.
- Learn about the specific revisions to the 2021 IRC adopted by the City of Dallas.
- Discuss common oversights when designing residential projects.
- Learn the local and state requirements for when an architect or engineer is required for residential projects.
