The Committee on the Environment (COTE) is a knowledge-based committee that educates and advocates for built environments that promote a healthy, sustainable, and equitable future for all communities and natural environments in North Texas.
Erin Winston and Ryan Ganey of HKS will present the latest advancements in materials and processes transforming the AEC industries. Emphasizing sustainability and innovation, Winston will discuss emerging materials such as mass timber, bio-based concrete, and methodologies for structural steel reuse. This nano-course will discuss topics such as structural performance, advanced manufacturing techniques, and the integration of circular design principles to reduce environmental impact. Through a blend of theoretical insights and real-world applications, attendees will learn how these innovative materials and processes are shaping the future of construction and acquire tools to adopt resilient and low-carbon solutions in modern building practices.
This course is under review by AIA CES for .5 LU | HSW.
