COTE: City of Dallas Approach to Sustainability and Climate Resilience
The Committee on the Environment (COTE) is a knowledge-based committee that educates and advocates for built environments that promote a healthy, sustainable, and equitable future for all communities and natural environments in North Texas.
Oppong Hemeng, City of Dallas, Climate and Sustainability, will discuss the City of Dallas Comprehensive Environmental & Climate Action Plan (CECAP) is a 20‑year plan designed to advance adaptation and mitigation strategies for one of the largest cities in the country. This session will discuss the current implementation of major programs and the ongoing efforts to address energy efficiency and climate resilience across commercial, residential, and city buildings. Additional topics will include the City’s sustainability strategy for hosting the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup.
