The 2024 edition of the International Building Code (IBC) brings significant updates that impact architectural practice and code compliance. This course will provide an overview of the most important changes from the 2021 edition, equipping design professionals with the knowledge needed to navigate the updated code confidently. Major Changes to the 2024 International Building Code

The 2024 edition of the International Building Code was released this year. This class will inform participants of the major and significant changes therein.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the significant changes made to IBC 2021 to create the newly published IBC 2024.
  • Recognize the updated requirements for the 180-degree rule regarding interior exit stair enclosures.
  • Interpret the updated requirements for buildings containing an occupiable roof.
  • Understand the updated occupancy classifications for buildings containing and related to lithium-ion batteries
