Architectural Project Manager

SBLM Architects is a nationally recognized mid-sized architectural firm.

Our Dallas office is looking for an Architectural Project Manager who is a highly motivated individual with excellent leadership and communication skills who seeks to assist in growing our newest regional office. The Project Manager will be viewed as a technical expert with recognized experience in planning, building codes and construction. 10 years plus of experience in the K-12 and Higher Education and/or Healthcare market sectors is required.

  • Must consistently be in the office during core office hours; 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

  • Be dependable, consistent, and detail oriented.
  • Lead multiple project teams.
  • Work with a Principal and our Marketing Director in writing proposals to clients.
  • Maintain primary contact with the client.
  • Organizes and develops document sets and takes on technically challenging issues as the leader of a project team and oversees supporting team members in completing all submissions with minimal supervision.
  • Perform code and zoning analyses.
  • Survey and document existing conditions in the field. Organize and lead site visits and surveys
  • Communicate and coordinate with external and internal team members.
  • Stay current with graphic standards, building construction methods and lead research efforts into construction materials and systems.
  • Schedule projects to meet deadlines, minimize downtime, and minimize overtime.
  • Monitors their project’s performance and holds team members accountable for their performance from a scheduling and profitability standpoint.
  • Have good problem-solving skills: identifying a problem, obstacle, or opportunity and taking decisive action to address.
  • Ensure Quality Assurance occurs as projects progress through its phases to maintain SBLM’s high standards for contract documents.
  • Participate in all project meetings with the client and key team members.
  • Can motivate others and foster teamwork.
  • Be externalized in the community, actively building and utilizing a professional network.

Requirements

  • Must hold a professional Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in K-12 and Higher Education and/or Healthcare market sectors sector projects in an architectural office.
    Should be a Registered Architect.
  • Applicant must be proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced demanding environment.
  • Team leadership skills, excellent communication with staff, clients and contractors.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Understand contracts and typical billing procedures.
  • Possess onsite construction field experience.
  • Strong understanding of structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas building, ADA codes and other applicable federal and industry standard guidelines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle a project from start to finish.
  • Follow office standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist to resolve problems of scope and complexity.
