AIA Dallas and TEXO, the construction association, are delighted to welcome back economist Anirban Basu of Sage Policy Group, Inc. to present a state and national economic overview for 2024. He will be joined by local expert Joseph Strub, Senior Preconstruction Manager at Turner Construction, to discuss the business climate in North Texas.

Anirban is Chairman & CEO of Sage Policy Group, Inc., an economic and policy consulting firm in Baltimore. Anirban serves as the chief economist to Associated Builders and Contractors and as chief economic adviser to the Construction Financial Management Association. In 2007 and then again in 2016, Mr. Basu was selected by the Daily Record newspaper as one of Maryland’s 50 most influential people. The Baltimore Business Journal named him one of the region’s 20 most powerful business leaders in 2010.

With over 25 years of experience in preconstruction, Joseph Strub, Senior Preconstruction Manager, has left an indelible mark on the North Texas Construction Industry as a dynamic and innovative community preconstruction leader. At Turner’s Dallas-Fort Worth business unit, Strub oversees all preconstruction activities for projects ranging from $6 million to $1 billion and is supported by a team of 14 top estimators in North Texas. Renowned for his expertise, Strub has authored publications on topics such as target value design and lean preconstruction and is responsible for preparing Turner Construction’s Quarterly Market Condition report.
