Tom Reisenbichler serves as Principal in Charge for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas redevelopment, one of the most transformative civic projects in the city’s history. A member of the Perkins&Will Board of Directors and a 40-year veteran of the profession, Tom brings deep experience leading complex, large-scale projects and aligning multidisciplinary teams to deliver ambitious outcomes.
Tom built Perkins&Will’s Southwest region from the ground up, growing it into the firm’s largest regional practice with more than 500 professionals across multiple studios. Known for his clear leadership and steady approach, he excels at guiding large teams with vision and tact, maintaining strong communication, and resolving challenges before they become obstacles. Integrity and follow-through define his work, and throughout his career he has consistently delivered on the promises made to clients and communities.
For the more than 2-million-square-foot Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, Tom provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for the design team. The project represents one of the first ground-up convention center developments in a major U.S. city since the pandemic and will significantly expand Dallas’ ability to host national and international events. The redesigned facility dramatically increases meeting capacity and amenities, positioning Dallas for long-term economic growth with more than 40 conventions already expected to generate nearly $1 billion in economic impact beginning in 2030.
Through his role on the Perkins&Will Board, Tom is able to draw upon the expertise of the firm’s global network—bringing the best thinking from across the practice to help deliver a convention center that will shape the future of downtown Dallas.
