Two members and one firm have received 2025 AIA National Awards. Join us in congratulating them.


Stephen Springs, FAIA. Stephen was elevated to the College of Fellows along with 81 other AIA members in 2025. Stephen enriches community life through service, planning, and design of civic recreation and aquatic projects. A nationally recognized leader, he persistently champions community-focused approaches, elevating the science, art, and impact of quality-of-life projects.

AIA Fellows are recognized for their exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society. Founded in 1952, the AIA College of Fellows seeks to stimulate a sharing of interests among Fellows, promote the purposes of AIA, advance the profession of architecture, mentor young architects, and be of ever-increasing service to society. Less than 3% of AIA members hold the prestigious FAIA designation.


LPA Design Studios. LPA Design Studios received the 2025 AIA Architecture Firm Award. LPA Design Studios has established itself as a trailblazer in sustainable, high-performance architecture, blending a mission-driven ethos with innovative, interdisciplinary design practices.

Founded in 1965, the firm grew from humble beginnings into a dynamic collective of architects, engineers, landscape architects, and designers, all united by the shared responsibility of addressing climate change and fostering equitable, thriving communities.


Oswaldo Rivera-Ortiz, Assoc. AIA. Oswaldo was awarded the 2025 AIA Associates Award. He is a visionary educator and advocate whose transformative work in K–12 outreach is making architecture more accessible, inclusive, and empowering for the next generation.

Oswaldo is a passionate educator, designer, and advocate whose groundbreaking work in K–12 architectural education is transforming how the profession engages with the next generation. With a career rooted in public service, Oswaldo blends his architectural expertise with a deep commitment to mentorship and community outreach. From founding R STUDIO, a high school design-build program in Texas, to leading the Education Outreach Committee at AIA Dallas, he has impacted more than 10,000 students across over 70 school districts.
